On Saturday I called in to see my old friends in the Storm Ravens, they may have left the Wolves but I was still made welcome in their new faction the Dragons. Banter and beer was enjoyed and I promised a sketch for them. I called into the Dragons again by the warming morning sun of the following day to once again say hello and keep my promise.

The Dragons Command
On Sunday morning I found my travels taking me by the Dragons camp. At such an early hour the camp was all quiet save for the sounds of flags fluttering in the breeze. Two marquees stood facing the gate framed by the mature trees behind them. With the quiet, the breeze and the gentle sunlight as my companions I settled down to sketch.
The Dragon Shrine
As the rain outside slowed to a gentle patter I wandered the areas near the ritual circle, at the heart was a shrine festooned with skulls, coins, symbols and crafted objects. Coins had been placed within the eye sockets of the skulls reflecting light and giving a hint of movement to the long dead bones. A dragons skull lay close to the centre of the shrine and it seemed fitting to sketch in such a place.
The Skull & Helm
Taking shelter from the early morning rain I found myself amongst the work of archaeologists in a room close to the Eye of the Dragon ritual circle. Items around me were carefully tagged and presented with notes requesting they were not to be moved. Sitting on a plinth beside them was a helm with a skull still in place. Striking and poignant I settled down to sketch the scene accompanied only be the sounds of the rainfall outside.

A Wander to the Dragons.
From my own faction camp I found my eyes drawn to a distinctive tent standing tall in the Dragon camp. I had promised myself a trip up to the Dragons to ask if I could draw it down as milestone in my travels. On the Sunday morning I found it was quiet in the healers guild and I decided to make the journey. I asked Laucian a member of the Dragons and fellow Healers Guild member if he could point me in the direction of the right person to speak to. He suggested Jenna, their High Bard would be a good person and by good fortune she was standing on the gate when I arrived.
The owners of the tepee were not yet up but the Dragons offered me the hospitality and safety of their camp, after a brief walk around to find the best angle to sketch from I found myself sitting outside the faction wards between the Dragons and the Jackals. Luckily all was quiet and the area was not hostile, however Jenna had kindly given me permission to run to the factions gate if situation changed.
Later that evening I was speaking with an Ogre who was a trader with the Dragons, he was good enough to inform me the tepee belonged to The Court of Mercury. Should they ever see it I hope the sketch pleases them.
